New Releases Out This Week 21st-25th November

Every Friday is like Christmas come early as we get to show off what has been released over the past week. This week has seen many big box releases occur in store for board games, miniatures, and even card games.

So let’s jump right into it as I will be giving you a rundown on the selection of items now available.

Table Top Games

The Others: 7 Sins- £92.99

Others is an unusual board game that is kind of like a roleplaying game in a box. It is a 2-5 player game where all but one player takes control of the plucky heroes who are defending a world that is currently undergoing an apocalypse. Meanwhile, the last player is controlling the personification of one of the seven deadly sins that is currently enacting its wrath upon the world.

Jim Henson’s Labyrinth: The Board Game – £49.99

Based on the hit 1986 movie of the same name, this game is a cooperative board game for 1-5 players and attempts to recreate the popular movie in board game form. As you make your way through the labyrinth, you and your companions will meet monsters and solve riddles, eventually making your way to the goblin city. However, time is not on your side as you only have 13 turns which to get to the city, defeat Jareth, and save Toby. Piece of cake, right?

AEG’s Black Box 2016 – £46.99

Another Black Friday, another AEG Black Box. This box of mystery contains a brand new card game called ‘Phase’ that harkens back to the collectable card games of yesteryear. Apparently AEG are doing competitions for who can find the most game-breaking combination of cards within Phase. Do that, and you get a t-shirt. Supposedly this T-Shirt will say something like “I broke Phase, and all I got was this stupid T-shirt.”

Collectable and Card Games

Magic the Gathering: Planechase Anthology – £120.00

This large box of Magic is a semi-self contained multiplayer game for Magic the Gathering that takes you through the history of Magic. For anyone who wants to get into magic this is a great launching off point, and all the cards are perfectly legal for standard play.

Pokémon Alola Collection – £15.99
Pokémon XY Evolutions Triple Booster – £11.99

Naturally with Pokémon Sun and Moon just releasing it is no surprise that we get a tie-in product for the popular trading card game. No only do we have the Alola collection boxes, but we also have some XY evolutions triple boosters available that come with a Victini coin. A must have for any Pokémon fan.

Star Wars The Card Game: Meditation and Mastery Force Pack – £13.99

The latest force pack for the Star Wars LCG. It brings some such needed Rebel support in the shape of Wedge Antilles and the very useful Tactical Planning fate card.

Miniature Games

Blood Bowl – £58.50
Skavenblight Scramblers Team – £18.00
Skavenblight Dice (not pictured) – £6.30
Death Zone Season One Supplement – £13.50

The big release this week is Blood Bowl, which returns with a brand new edition and two teams ready to go right out of the box. We’ve been covering Blood Bowl’s release heavily and even I am looking forward to giving the game a try. Not only is the main game out, but you can also pick up the Death Zone supplement, and a team for the game; the Skavenblight Scramblers.
